Marianne Carlina is a queer, cis female, interdisciplinary artist who creates layered, abstract works in both painting and sculpture. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from CUNY Staten Island in 2024. Since 2018 her work has been shown in venues such as Artpocalpyse Atlanta and Blank Canvas Gallery in Atlanta, GA, along with multiple shows at the College of Staten Island, as well as in over one dozen private collections in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Ohio. Marianne and her work was also featured in Voyage Atl Magazine in 2018. "I find the complexity in connectivity and boundaries, to oneself, and to each other, endlessly interesting, and I use it to inform my content. Using color, texture and gesture in paint and sculpture, I hope for the viewer to examine how they connect to themselves and to the people in the world around them. Focused on trauma and joy equally and inspired by my own relationship experiences, I share my response to the beautiful, complicated, intimate and often intense bonds and fractures of the human condition. I invite the viewer to use my work to help them process their own experiences."
